I had the greatest time today. I was like a kid at the candy store. I spent the day in downtown LA, and you might call me crazy but I loved it! There is just something about it I love. If you have never been there you need to go at least once! As for me it will be a trip I take at least once a month! I found stores that had all the crystals and ribbon I use for scrapbooking, and I didn't want to leave the flower district once I saw and smelled all the beautiful flowers. Well I guess I'll just have to wait until next Thursday, that's when I'm going back!

Here's a picture of Joanna. She's still in Afghanistan, but she will be home sometime in April. I still can't get over her carrying that big old gun around! Thank you to everyone that took the time to send her care packages, she really enjoyed receiving them. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. Thanks again!

Something New!

I am really enjoying the classes I've been taking. I love learning new things. So I was very excited when the instructor taught us how to make these flowers out of ribbon. My head was spinning, just thinking about what I can do with them! This silver one will be used on a wedding album that I am making for my cousin. I 'll put up a picture as soon as I have one.

Birthday party!

Well it's 1:00am Saturday the 27th, and those of you who know me well know that I'm never up this late! There is a good reason. Tomorrow is Brianna's 1st birthday, and I'm still up preparing for it! Just wanted to show everyone some pics of the things I made for her. I've been taking some cake classes and I am really enjoying them. They seemed to have paid off! Hope everyone is doing well, hopefully I will have some good news to share with everyone on Tuesday!

New product!

The thing I miss most about not working at Strictly any more is getting to play with all the new product. Well that changed today! I'm making samples for the OC expo with this new line from GCD...The designer is the fabulous Melody Ross. Let me just say I LOVE THIS LINE!! She has two lines out. This one is called Homespun Chic. I will make samples with the other line called Artsy Urban tomorrow. Strictly will be the only store selling this at the expo, so come early and stock up!

So guess what I did New years Eve.....Yup you guessed it..I scrapbooked! It was so fast & easy. I knew exactly where everything was! (My friend helped me organize my entire SB room last week..Thank you!) I love these 2 pic's of myself with my kids. I can't believe how big they are getting. No matter how big, they will always be my "Chick-a-dees"

Happy New Year ! I hope that 2010 brings everyone lots of blessings. 2009 was bitter sweet for alot of us. I won't say this year will be stress free, because that will just be unrealistic, but I will accept anything that comes my way, deal with it in the most positive way I know how, & move on. I will enjoy & embrace any blessings big or small this year, & hope you do the same. So here's to you...wishing you a blessed and prosperous 2010.

Breakfast with Santa

Sorry I've been gone so long. You would think since I'm not working I would have more time to blog! Well that's what I thought too! I'm just so busy! Well last weekend we had Breakfast with Santa with our cousins. It was fun. Karissa meet Santa, had breakfast, decorated a cookie and ornament, and Santa finished the morning with a Christmas story for the kids. It was great!

Our Jo Jo left for Afghanistan on Wednesday. I just want to say thank you to everyone that took the time to call her. She said she is a little nervous because she doesn't know what to except. I know in my heart she will be fine. With prayer I know Joanna will be back safe. Thank you again for all your prayers and support.

Reality Check

I think it hasn't quite hit me, (or I'm in denial) because I feel like I just took a few days off of work, and I'll be back at the store soon. Then my dear husband said " So hunny you're a stay at home mom again"! WAIT!......WHAT? I was suddenly brought back to reality, the store is closed and I will not be going back. My only job will be to take care of my family. Since my rude awaking things have been pretty good. I've been getting the kids ready for school with dr appts, shopping, and last minute trips. Of course I've been getting my schedule ready too. I've signed up for school, ( I'm very interested in graphic design I might take a stab at it) the gym, and a salsa class! I'm trying not to do to much since my main objective is to take care of my family. I'm sure my husband loves that there's dinner on the table every night now. I'm very excited to start my new journey & enjoy more time with family & friends. Thank you for all the memories!

Today is my best friend's Birthday. So you know what that means...Disneyland!!! We took Audrey & Karissa of course. We had so much fun. It was sooo hot, but not crowed at all. Audrey had her 1st lollipop! It was a fun day. Happy Birthday Gracie!

Childhood Memory

When I was a little girl I remember my mother bringing home some pastries from a bakery in China town. I was probably about 7 years old. Well sometime last year I went to China town, my mission?... to find these pastries called "butterflies". Well my mission was completed, I found them, but since Chinatown is kinda far from me I haven't had them since. My hunny knows I've been craving these things, so he started looking up bakeries on the internet. Guess what he found?...."BUTTERFLIES". You won't believe where!!! Right around the corner from where I work!! So on Sunday we took a little drive down to Diamond Bakery to buy my beloved pastries

as soon as I took a bite I was 7 years old all over again!

Beach Party!

On Saturday Gracie had a beach party for her birthday. We had so much fun! Karissa & Audrey had fun playing in the water. Later that evening we had a bon fire, we toasted marshmallows & sang happy birthday to Grace. It's always great to hang out with our family!

Proud to be an American

I have always been proud to be an American. Our family loves to celebrate the 4Th, but this year its a little more special to us. As you all know our Jo-Jo joined the Navy back in November, and we are very proud of her. I just want to take this time to tell her Thank you! Not only her but all the young men and women who serve our country. Without their service we wouldn't have our freedom . I was told it takes a special person to fight for our country, & I know that's true. Joanna always says this is what she was born to do, & I believe it. Thank You for all your sacrifice, & your commitment to us, and to our great country. WE LOVE YOU!

Time well spent

We've been working hard all week, & when I say "we" that includes Karissa. She has been with me @ the store & warehouse almost everyday this week, & she doesn't just sit around, she's actually working..putting away ribbon and empty baskets & collecting empty paper trays. I felt bad that she has to come with me, so today we went into work for only a few hours, then I took her to get a special treat. We went to Miss Priss Cupcakes! It was yummy! A couple of friends were in the area so they stopped by to join us. It was a nice little outing spent with friends & it was great just hanging out with my favorite girl. Thanks for being so patient & helpful Kari ,I love you!

A Proud Walk Home

When Joanna was home, Karissa had 1 request.."Jo can you pick me up from school?" Maybe she had 2 request, I wanna say the next thing she said was more of a demand! "but when you come get me you have to have your uniform on!" I found these pictures today I didn't know Jo's friend had taken them. Jo said it was pretty cool watching the children stare at her and asking her if she was a real solider. She didn't have to say anything, because I know Karissa was proud to show off her "big sister" on that walk home.

Well you know how I do it, when I finally have time to post I do it 5 post at a time! I've been busy with birthday party's, A welcome home party, and an anniversary. They were all back to back! I wanted to take the time to say Thank You to my friends & Family who helped me with all the preparations. Without you I would have gone crazy!!!! So Thank You very much! Also please keep our Seabee in your prayers, she might be shipping out to Afghanistan in August, I'll keep you posted. (MJ aren't you proud I finally updated my blog!)

I worked the CKU show in Pasadena on Saturday, & I was so excited to find these stamps. Aren't they just perfect for my Seabee! This perfect little stamp made my day. I know, It doesn't take much to make me happy!

Sugar Plum Festival

Well "The Gang" went out to the Sugar Plum Festival on Thursday night. We found a few little treasures. After, we hit Applebees for a very late dinner. We always have a good time when we're together. Always alot of laughs!

Joanna's Home!

Joanna came for for about a week. We were all excited to see her. We were like little kids on christmas waiting for her to call to tell us she had landed. We had a little welcome home party for her. Of course Jayden was happy to see his Jo-Jo! She was born to wear this uniform, she looks good, doesn't she! Karissa & Jo decorated the cake, We all had a good time. We are so proud of our Jo-Jo!

Creative Imaginations came out with a Star wars line, so the characters were there to help promote the product. Very Cool!

I Love going to CHA, but I also love when it's over! I was able to take today off, (Thanks Soph) and spent it cleaning the house and of course taking Karissa to Disneyland! We ordered alot of cool things @ CHA I can't wait to get my hands on everything! Here's a couple of pic's we took. Enjoy!

Freezing!

It was so cold in Chicago! The temp was -7 on Friday, plus the wind chill made it-40 degrees! My crazy kids couldn't resist playing in the snow (even if it was only for 5 minutes) The day we left Chicago it was the warmest at 20 degress. We are so glad to be back in sunny California!!!

She's A Sailor!

We all flew out to see Joanna graduate from bootcamp on Thursday. We were so happy to see her! She looks so good, and she is even more respectable and polite. We are so proud of her. She loves being a sailor. My heart is over flowing with love and pride for my JoJo. I am so in awe of her...I would catch myself staring at her in amazement, she has turned into such a fine young lady. WELL DONE SAILOR!

Bigger Space

My fellow bloggers have been reminding me that I need to update my blog. So here I go again....

First I am so excited about my new space in my scrapbook room. I went to Living Spaces to get a coffee table and came back with a table for my scrapbook room. Isn't it the best? My room is near completion and you won"t believe how much I paid for it... $90.00 I found it in the clearance section! It has a few dings on it but that's fine because I"m only gonna create more dings on it! I love It!

Fall is Here

Well my baby's are growing up. Joanna graduated and is on her way to the Navy in November. Danny is in the 8th grade, and has been practicing the guitar. Karissa is in the first grade and losing her first tooth! I almost want to have another....I said almost! Fall is always been busy for us. It means school and Soccer, Soccer, Soccer! For a few years all three were playing at the same time. That was pretty crazy. Now it's just Karissa, so it's alot easier. Yes I am a Soccer Mom and I love it!

Concert

I have a new favorite artist. His name is Jason Mraz. When I heard he was having a concert at the Morongo Casino I had to get tickets. It was a laid back concert, that's his style. He sang all my favorites, and I sang along and danced the night away! I had a really great time! I can't wait to go to his next one. The video I posted is Mraz singing his song called "The Dynamo of Volition" I hope you like it. I will be making a scrapbook soon of this unforgettable night! I Love Jason Mraz!!!

Romo Family Reunion

We had our first reunion last month and it was great! We got to see all our Aunts, Uncles , cousins, and my grandparents! I felt alittle bad because I told Karissa "All these kids are your cousins" And she just gave me a look and said "but I don't know them." We have a big family, my grandpa's last name is Romo. ( no we are not related to Tony Romo!) My mother is the 2nd born of 7 kids. My grandmother had her hands full! The picture we took inspired me to make a canvas. The first one that required alittle painting. It's my own little masterpiece. Ok maybe not so little it's a 30 x 30 canvas, but it's just the right size for my living room. I love the picture of my family with my grandparents, it's something that I will always cherish. The group picture is the first Romo pic. ( and that's not all of us, some uncles and cousins are still missing). We had a great time!

Well that's it I think I'm all caught up. I've been really busy at work, and at home. I don't know what I'm gonna do without Joanna she helps me so much around the house and with Karissa. OC Fair

Well it's kind of a tradition with the Reyes Family to go to the Fair every year. This time was bitter sweet, it is the last time we will go to the fair with our Jo Jo! In November she will be in bootcamp! I'm gonna miss her sooo much! We all will. The kids had a great time, they always do. One thing about my kids is they know how to have fun and act silly! They're great! Blanca and the kids went, and Sophia and Jayden met us there too. Jayden had So much fun! It was great just watching him run around not knowing where to start.

CHA Chicago

Laurie and I went to CHA Chicago this year. Our first day there we went downtown to enjoy the sites. It was great! We even went to the famous Superdawgs drive in and had a hot dog. We were so busy the rest of the trip doing all the ordering for the stores. There was so many great ideas and product especially for Halloween and Christmas. So make sure you stop buy the stores at least once or twice a week, New product from the show is already coming in!

4th of July

On the 4th of July we all went to Cerritos High School and listened to a band play and watched the firework show. Oh and I can't forget all the yummy treats we ate! We all got a little teary eyed when I'm proud to be an American played, Especially now when Joanna is so close to leaving for the Navy.

Kindergarten Graduation

Today my baby graduated from Kindergarten. I can't believe how fast they grow up! Before you know it I will be posting her 6th grade graduation! She made cards for everyone in her class with her address and phone number so they can keep in touch this summer. The graduation was great, the kids put on a great performance, and I didn't even cry! (Surprise Surprise)

A Benihana Birthday

I wanted to share my little book with everyone. I have been working on it for about 4 weeks now. We went to Benihanas for Joanna's birthday, the waiter took a picture of all of us and put in inside a photo card, so I cut the card in half to use as a mini album. I used the new Best Creation paper, New embellishments and rub-ons from Creative Imaginations, and some Jollee's. Then I bound it all together with the bind it all from Zutter, added some chopsticks and there we have it... A Benihana Birthday Book. Today I have been married to the most wonderful man on the planet for 13 years! Aren't I lucky! I just wanna tell him Happy Anniversary Baby & I Love You! We have nothing special going on, maybe just dinner tonight. We did spend the day with the 2 munchkins yesterday. We took them to San Pedro for some seafood. We all had a good time.
